Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "We reacted with a great mentality after a big mistake. We were in control and made a mistake, but we reacted well.

"We had to make changes. The players had to do it and credit to them, because they really made a difference.

"The players have to enjoy today, then start thinking about how we recover and prepare for Villa. It’s going to be another big fight."

On Martin Odegaard: "He’s getting goals and he’s really affecting the game. He wants to make things happen – he’s the captain."

On Gabriel: "Gabriel has shifted his life, the way he looks after himself. He has enough physically and mentally to overcome those situations and I’m so happy for him."

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, speaking to Sky Sports: "Big boost, winning like this is really nice.

"We made a mistake and they punished us but then how we reacted against adversity, the connection with the ers, the way we went about it, the team believed. They wanted to win the match, they went for it and we managed to do it."

On Gabriel getting the winner after his mistake: "It shows his character and how far he has come across. His mentality and the way he looks after himself I am really happy.

"Now it is onto the next one. We have another two games this week we have to prepare and recover well. Every game in this league is so demanding.

"Really physical and really quality teams with top coaches that make every game difficult."

Start of a title challenge? "No this is just the start of the season. We are in a long, long marathon."

Arsenal have won each of their first four games of a Premier League season for only the third time, after 2003-04, when they went on to win the league, and 2004-05 when they finished runners-up.

Fulham

Fulham manager Marco Silva, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "It’s a tough defeat for us. My players deserve to get something more from the game. They are confident, creating so many chances against the teams we have played so far.

"Of course Arsenal had more possession, more shots and so many clear chances. After the second goal they didn’t know how they scored. There were a lot of players around the goalkeeper. After the 1-1 we had a great chance with Mitrovic and after the 2-1 we had a great chance with Chalobah.

"I’m not sure about the goal [Gabriel's winner] but with the long throw-in, the referee saw a foul that no-one else saw."

On strengthening his squad: "Everyone around the world can see that [we need to strengthen]. Everyone who sees football or understands football can see that. We don’t have wingers on the bench, we don’t have a striker on the bench.

"I’m not here to find excuses, but at this level you have to have more solutions."

Fulham

More from Marco Silva, speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "All the credit to my players, from the first to the last minute, our desire to raise to the challenge was there.

"Second-half was tough for us on the ball. The pressure from Arsenal was strong but we continued to create chances.

"We can do better but we deserved to get more from this game.

"They [Arsenal] didn't have many clear chances, they had two goals and both were lucky goals. It was bad luck for us.

"I felt straight after scoring our goal that we carried more pressure from the fans in the stadium."

On Leno's performance: "Great performance from him. He's giving everything that I like to see in that position, calmness, authority, strength and command.

Fulham

Fulham boss Marco Silva, speaking to Sky Sports: "All the credit is for my players - the commitment, attitude and organisation from the first and last minute.

"They deserved much more from the game, definitely. The bad luck we had with the two goals we conceded I hope it come soon for my players because we deserve everything we didn't get from this game.

"I want more on the ball of course and I know we will get there. No-one can compete at this level with one striker, even if it is Mitro. Without wingers on the bench at this level it is impossible but credit to my players.

"I didn't see many clear chances for Arsenal. After 1-0 when the game seemed to be more open they had luck to score with the deflection. Even after they scored the winner we tried until the end.

"I hope the bad luck we had this evening will go our way in the future."

On how many new gs he feels he needs: "It is not important now, my focus is on my players, they have been doing a fantastic job."

Arsenal's Bukayo Saka, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "We had to be patient. Credit to Fulham, they made it difficult for us. In the end we got the result we wanted, so we’re happy.

"Eddie Nketiah made a real difference for us. I’m happy with his contribution and I’m sure he’ll score a lot of goals for us this season.

"We’re all so hungry to win each game. We’re going to continue like this for the whole season. We know how difficult the Premier League is. We’re just focusing on the next game, the next game and the next game."

On Gabriel Jesus: "He’s made a big difference. He brings combination, threat, energy, goals and assists – he brings everything. We’re very happy to have him."

On goalscorer Gabriel: "He’s a guy with a big character. He deserved to get the winner."

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta oversaw his 100th Premier League game in charge today, picking up 100 points in his second 50 (W32 D4 L14) after accruing 75 in his first 50 (W21 D12 L17).

Fulham

Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, speaking to Sky Sports: "Hurts a lot. That is football, sometimes you win, last week last minute but today we lost. We gave everything out there, we fought until the end but we conceded two unlucky goals. First was rebound, second was after ricocheted. Very sad we didn't take any points but we move on.

"We are here we are going to challenge everything, we will try to push hard and challenge every team, no matter who we face. We have to learn from some mistakes. In a few situations we had to be a bit more clinical. They have had a really good season so far, it is a tough place to come. Plenty more points to play for."

Arsenal defender Gabriel, speaking to Sky Sports: "After I lost the ball my head was down, but my brothers kept saying ‘let’s go’. I lifted my head up – my team-mates were a big help to me."

On his goal: "After the referee said handball, I just asked God. I’m so happy with my team and the three points. It’s a big fight. I’m so happy.”

Arsenal midfielder Martin Odegaard, speaking to Sky Sports: "It was brilliant. We knew it was going to be a tough game. We fought, showed great team spirit and it’s an amazing feeling.

"We played really well in the first half, we just missed the goal but that happens. He showed great character to come back and score the winning goal. It shows the character of the team. When someone makes a mistake, we lift them back up.

"We have to stay calm, take it game by game, work hard and win the next game. That’s the mindset."

On the club's ers: "It’s a great chemistry with the fans. We made a mistake with the first goal but they kept ing us. We’re grateful for all the we get."

Sam: Four wins out of four for the gunners. This young Arsenal squad are really starting to look like a team that can challenge for multiple trophies and maybe titles this season.

I thought I'd struggle to see a bigger smile than Pep Guardiola's earlier today after Erling Haaland's hat-trick but Mikel Arteta's is running him close.

The Arsenal boss is beaming as he wanders around the pitch, hugging his players and coaching staff and waving to the fans.

All over and Arsenal come from behind to continue their winning start to the season. They are top of the Premier League with 12 points from four games.
