Well it wasn't pretty, and we're not talking about the TV pictures, but Luke Littler pulled it out of the fire to pinch a 6-5 victory over Chris Dobey - who will be kicking himself after that.

The set-ups from around 200 points were poor from both men, with Dobey leaving 136 and getting nowhere near and Littler still having 110 left when on 167.

However, the world champion conjures up a rare moment of quality to nail that 110 on tops to go through to the semis.

A 180 helps Chris Dobey to sit on a finish after nine darts, and he then takes out 104 to finish it off for a brilliant 12-dart leg.

Again the only bad thing is that it's on his own throw but he still moves one from victory.

Luke Littler's been patchy here, but the best thing about the young man is when he gets angry with his game he usually focuses harder and improves.

And he does that here by opening up with a 180 and finishing the leg in 15 darts, with the throw, to level.

Dobey just needs two holds of throw.

He's still shaking his head as Dobey pins the tricly double nine with a huge smack of the wire - his dart just about slides in the right side of it though to move back in front.

Luke Littler has missed a load of doubles so far but he rarely misses on his favourite double 10 - so when that's left we know the rest.

Everyone misses, because darts is difficult

Chris Dobey is a fraction away from hitting double 14 to nail an incredible 148 checkout to pinch the throw - but that's as good as it gets quality wise as both men then struggle.

Luke Littler misses five darts at double, while Dobey misses three, messes up on another visit but can still return to win it in 20 darts.
