County Durham RAF veteran walks 95 laps for 95th birthday

An RAF veteran has walked 95 times around a primary school field to raise money for charity for his 95th birthday.

l Donald Elsom, from Annfield Plain, County Durham, took on the challenge to help raise funds for Macmillan Cancer .

He started doing the laps at Catchgate Primary School last September and finished his final lap on 13 March - one day before his 95th birthday.

Diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2012, his challenge raised more than £3,000 in donations.
